Every school benefits from a garden. The process of planting and tending a garden helps students learn not only about biology and other sciences, but also math, language, history, and world cultures. Gardens give educators a venue to teach about responsibility, community service, and conflict resolution. And research shows that kids who help grow and prepare their own food are more likely to make healthy choices at lunch time.
