"People sometimes tend to forget to write down where they got something- seeds, good-quality transplants, fertilizers, or other supplies," says Larry Bass, a North Carolina extension horticultural specialist. Bass suggests keeping a file of sources. He says, "If something worked, you'll want to repeat it. But you can't do that unless you know where you got it."
