Create an attractive, functional piece of kitchen decor using an unexpected element: garlic! Not only will the wreath add a decorative touch to your kitchen, but the garlic can also easily be removed and put to use in your favorite garlic dishes.
For this project, you will need a foam wreath form, burlap, heads of garlic, toothpicks, and raffia (optional). You will also need a pair of scissors and a hot-glue gun.
To make the wreath, use scissors to cut various strips of burlap. Wrap the burlap strips around the wreath form so the edges of the pieces overlap slightly, securing with hot glue as you work, until the entire surface of the wreath is covered. Insert a toothpick halfway into the bottom of each head of garlic, and then press the toothpick end into the wreath form to arrange the garlic in a pretty configuration. If desired, create a bow with raffia and use hot glue to affix it to the top of the wreath.
