If your yard seems too small to grow both food crops and ornamentals, try landscaping with edibles, especially fruit. Blueberries and gooseberries are handsome shrubs that can stand alone or form a hedge. Strawberries serve well as groundcovers. Dwarf fruit trees fit nicely along a driveway or a property line. Grapevines on an arbor provide inviting shade over a patio; they also grow well against a wall.
