
Great for lunch or brunch. Best served warm from oven.
Ingredients
1 package dry yeast
1/4 cup lukewarm water
1 cup cottage cheese, heated to warm
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons grated onion, or 1 tablespoon minced dry onion
1 tablespoon butter
2 teaspoons dill seed
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 egg
2 1/2 cups flour
Directions
1. Soften yeast in lukewarm water and combine in mixing bowl with cottage cheese, sugar, onion, butter, dill seed, salt, baking soda, and egg.
2. Stir in flour. Knead well.
3. Let rise in warm place until doubled in bulk (about 1 hour).
4. Punch down and knead again. Form into loaf and place in greased and floured 9" x 5" loaf pan.
5. Let rise in warm place for 30 minutes.
6. Bake at 350°F for 50 minutes.
